DAILY HIRE CHARGES
The daily hire charges include
unlimited kilometres and GST (12.5%) charges.All charges are calculated
on a daily basis, not a twenty four hour day. Vehicles are available
at 7.00am on the day you commence you hire and must be returned
by 4.00pm at termination unless prior arrangements are made. MINIMUM
HIRE PERIOD IS 7 DAYS - During peak months Dec till March
min hire can be 21 days for some models .please email us to check
availibility .
DRIVERS REQUIREMENTS AND LICENCE
All drivers must be 25 years of age or older and hold a current
valid drivers licence, to be produced at the start of the hire An
international or approved overseas licence is acceptable. No special
licence is required to drive Walkabout motorhomes in New Zealand.
PLEASE NOTE : NZ Laws are Drivers Licences must be in English.
INSURANCE
A compulsory insurance charge of NZ$20.00 per day covers
your hire vehicle for windscreen breakage and,Flat Tyres and
public liability insurance The hirer is liable to pay a bond which
is compulsory in the event of an accident or damage done to the
vehicle.PLEASE NOTE you are advised to arrange your own insurance
to cover your own personal possessions (not covered in this insurance).
BOND
All hirers are subject to a bond , ranging from NZ$1200 to NZ$2000
(depending on vehicle) including GST , which is payable
48 hours before the hire and can be paid by cash or credit
card. The bond is FULLY REFUNDABLE providing the vehicle has not
been in an accident or damaged in any way and is clean and tidy
, waste tanks emptied and the fuel tank is full upon return. No
refunds can be given for any unused portion of your holiday. Pets
& Surfboards are not permitted in any vehicles.
Before
travelling It is Important to arrange Travel Insurance. Walkabout
can arrange for you on this website full travel insurance at a discounted
rate , for your one stop travel shop .This also covers the vehicle
security Deposit of NZ$2000.00 Which works out far
cheaper than paying Bond Waiver Insurance thru
rental companies .This is a waste of money, as most claims
are for windscreens , which you are covered for in the
daily compulsory rate .

DEPOSIT
A deposit of NZ $500.00 (GST incl ) is required to secure a booking.
A full refund is available for more than 35 days prior to commencement
date. Full payment for the balance of hire charges must be made
to Walkabout 30 days before hire commences. Cancellation fees will
apply as follows . 1-9 Days -75% of total reservation cost.
10-19 Days -50% of total reservation cost. 20-28 Days 25% of total
reservation cost. 29-39 days 50% of deposit paid

ONE WAY RENTALS
One way rentals are available at no extra charge if the commencement
of the hire is Auckland and finish in Christchurch, or start
in Christchurch and finish in Auckland and the minimum rental
period is 21 days. (Excludes specials advertised )
LIABILITY In the event of any unforseen circumstances or breakdowns. Walkabout Motorhome Rentals (NZ) Ltd ,can only be liable for up to the maximum amount of your daily hire .
ROAD RESTRICTIONS ALL Vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads, Vehicles are not permitted on the following roads:
- Ninety mile beach (Northland)
- Skippers rd (Queenstown)
- North of Colville township (Coromandel peninsula)
- Vehicles are not permitted on ski roads
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT To be booked at time of reservation:
- 4 str picnic table = NZ$22.00 per rental
- colour tv (3 berths) = NZ$65.00 per rental
- child /booster seat = NZ$30.00 per rental
- Picnic chairs = NZ$11.00 per rental
- Chemical toilet (3 berths) = NZ$35 per rental
EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED IN YOUR MOTORHOME plates, bowls, mugs, cutlery, bottle and can opener, cooking utensils, mixing bowls ice cube tray, chopping board, kettle, frying pan, saucepans, teapot, toaster,dishcloth, microwave cookware, bucket, hose, dustpan and brush, pegs, pillows and pillowcases sheets and duvets , towels and tea towels, toilet paper, toilet chemicals, gas lighter, and fire extinguisher, also a full LPG gas bottle.
